About the Department

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Angadi Institute of Technology and Management (AITM), Belagavi, established in 2010, is dedicated to imparting quality technical education and fostering innovation, research and entrepreneurship in line with its vision and mission. Supported by a team of well qualified faculty members and state-of-the-art infrastructure, the department provides a strong foundation in core areas of mechanical engineering such as design, thermal sciences, manufacturing and industrial engineering.

The department initially started with an intake of 60 students, which was later increased to 120 students to meet the growing demand for the program. At present, the department continues with an intake of 60 students at the undergraduate level. Along with this, the department offers an M.Tech. program in Production Engineering & System Technology (since 2014) with an intake of 06 students and a VTU-approved Research Center (since 2018) providing opportunities for Ph.D. and research scholars.

Students are encouraged to actively participate in projects, internships, technical competitions and industry collaborations, which strengthen their professional competence and problem-solving skills. The department mission is realized through a student-centric approach that emphasizes academic excellence, ethical values, innovation and lifelong learning. By integrating knowledge with practical exposure, the department prepares graduates to meet global engineering challenges and contribute to sustainable societal and industrial development
